God of War II

God of War II is a popular action-adventure game on the PCSX2 emulator. It was released in 2005 and developed by Santa Monica Studio. It continues Kratos’ journey from the first game to defeat Zeus, the strongest god, who also happens to be his own father.

Storyline

After Kratos successfully defeated Ares in God of War 1, Kratos became the new God of War. However, his power alarmed Zeus, as he surpassed Ares’s. In a fierce battle on Rhodes, Zeus betrayed Kratos, took his power, and killed him with the Blade of Olympus—the sword Zeus gave him to defeat the Titans. Kratos’s soul fell to the underworld, but he did not despair over his death. With the help of Gaia, the mother of the Titans, he attempted to rise from the dead and succeeded.

This journey of revenge takes Kratos into the world of Greek mythology: from crumbling temples to floating islands, from powerful creatures to arrogant gods. He confronts Typhon, frees Prometheus, conquers the Sphinx, and even persuades the god of fate to change his past. Along the way, Kratos takes the power of the god of time, Chronos, and uses it to travel back in time to a time when the Titans are at war with Olympus. He aids and leads the giants—Atlas, Perses, and Gaia—in an assault on the sacred mountain where Zeus and his forces are preparing for battle.
